The Glow Project 2003 was a one-night installation celebrating community spirit and art. The fruits of many months productivity were projected by E\T\C onto a spectacular 60 metre wide, 20 metre high canvass of Regency style buildings in Palmiera Square, Brighton, East Sussex.

The Glow Project concept was created and initiated by local resident Nathalie Vin in 2002. This year, Vin and E\T\C’s Ross Ashton combined creative, technical and logistical forces to realise the larger scale 2003 event, which saw over 30 local households supplying art of various sorts to be projected onto the buildings.

The 2003 Glow Project was also a two part public event, starting on the Friday night with projections onto the Brighton Pavilion. This was followed on the Saturday by the massive Palmiera Square show.

E\T\C supplied two 6KW PIGI projectors with double rotating scrollers, and a Barco G10 video projector for Palmiera Square. All hardware was located 50 metres away on the green in the middle of the Square, protected by heavy-weather tents.

The local art was shown as a series of still video images, dropped into a ‘mask’ and framed by the two sets of scrolling PIGI artwork. All PIGI artwork was created by Ross Ashton and video artwork by Nathalie Vin, and the 20 minute Glow Project show ran continuously from 7.30 – 9.30 p.m.
