Large format projection specialists E\T\C produced a spectacular son et lumière event in the splendid grounds of Chiswick House in West London, using a façade of the beautiful 18th century mansion as a projection surface.
The event was a collaboration between E\T\C, the Community Initiative Partnership - responsible for all local authority event organisation - and English Heritage. It was designed to draw attention to the power of the medium of large format projection, highlighting its potential as a medium for community, heritage and entertainment-based events.
Over 200 invited guests attended the 2-day demonstration, with numbers further boosted by curious members of the public. E\T\C’s Ross Ashton was impressed with the turnout and the high percentage of take up. It actually turned into a bit of an impromptu production industry party, with attendees from a diverse selection of companies including White Light, PRG, LDPS from Ireland, Stagetec, the Liverpool Vision project and the BBC – all of whom chanced the dodgy weather for a good night out! The show also acted as a precursor for the annual CIP-organised Proms In the Park event at Chiswick House.
Onlookers were treated to a feast of colour, movement and enthralling history as the eventful story of the rich artistic and political heritage of the House was unfolded, in a lively, vivid 35-minute projection show. | Click on the pictures for the large version |
