The Projection Studio Illuminates York

Large scale projection specialists The Projection Studio produced a centrepiece show for the 10 day "Illuminating York" event, with The Projection Studio's Ross Ashton commissioned by Visit York to design and create the spectacle.

The work, “Accendo”, involved two independent but complimentary video and film projection shows running concurrently.

The Projection Studio Fires Up Sandhurst

Large format projection specialists The Projection Studio supplied seven 6kW PIGI projectors with double rotating scrollers to produce a spectacular 120 metre wide backdrop on The Old College building at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, for "Music On Fire" 2008.

It is the third time that The Projection Studio has been involved in the biannual 3-day mixed-media extravaganza and "Firework Prom" which attracted audiences of up to 10,000 per night with proceeds going to the Army Benevolent Fund

The Projection Studio at Edinburgh Tattoo 2008

The Projection Studio is supplying spectacular 90 metre wide large format image projections for the 2008 Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

It’s the fourth consecutive year that the company has been involved in this high profile event, and the first year that the projection canvas has been increased from 60 to 90 metres wide. This extended area stretches the full width of Edinburgh Castle’s walls at the far end of the Esplanade/arena where the performance takes place.

The Projection Studio Creates New World record For Video Projection

The Projection Studio is creating a new world record in large format video projection as part of the festivities for the 400th anniversary of the City of Quebec, which runs from the 20th of June to the 24th of August.

“Le Moulin à Images” (The Image Mill), is a spectacle of imagery and sound created by media innovator and artist Robert Lepage and his team at Ex Machina, recalling the history of Quebec City.

Utilising 24 Christie 20K projectors and 16 OnlyView servers for control, The Projection Studio supplied spectacular multi-screen projections onto a distorted perspective set for the Lux Zee Cine Awards (ZCA) 2008.

One of the most prestigious international Awards events on the Indian showbusiness calendar, it was staged this year at London’s ExCel Centre and produced by Cineyug for Zee TV.

The Projection Studio Helps Launch Sunderland Aquatic Centre

Large format projection specialists The Projection Studio created spectacular 90 metre wide images and produced the soundtrack for a special large scale outdoor event to launch the new Sunderland Aquatic Centre, the North East’s first Olympic sized swimming pool.

Working closely with show producers Magnetic Events, and soundscape producer Karen Monid, ETC’s Ross Ashton interpreted an original storyboard by Magnetic’s Robin Morley to create a 15 minute collage of images based on aquatic themes, interwoven with water-related elements from the City’s past and present, with “the swimmer” at its core.

The Projection Studio helps Rock Cashel for St Patrick’s Day

For the first time ever, Ireland's primary St Patrick's Day spectacular event moved out of Dublin and to picturesque Cashel in County Tipperary, for a live Saturday night prime time broadcast on RTE 1.

The 'Skyfest' event has traditionally been a fireworks show, but this year, Donal Sheils, chief executive of the St Patrick's Day Committee, decided the time was right to add some additional visual elements to the spectacle as well as shifting it to a charismatic site-specific location.

Large format projection specialists, The Projection Studio, have taken delivery of another 9 Christie Roadster S+20K high power video projectors.

This follows a previous major investment in Christie just 6 months ago and reflects both the company’s unprecedented demands of the last quarter of 2007 and a general increase in its level of video work, particularly in the conference and concert sectors. “We needed to boost the equipment inventory to service more clients and an increased number of projects – it’s as simple as that,” says The Projection Studio’s MD, Ross Ashton.

Le Cent Quatre (104) is an exciting new international arts space opening in Paris’s 19th arondissment in the autumn.

10,000 visitors were treated to “La Traversee” – a 2-day sneak preview of the project – featuring a series of specially commissioned interactive video installations, with hardware, software, material, control and expertise supplied by projection specialists The Projection Studio and Cosmo AV.

For the fourth consecutive year, large projection specialists The Projection Studio projected a series of giant sporting images and related inspirational text messages onto London’s 352 ft high Shell Tower as the metropolis rocked in to 2008.

As in previous years The Projection Studio was appointed by event producers Jack Morton Worldwide.

The Projection Studio to supply the largest outdoor architectural video projection ever mounted.

From the 20th June to the 29th July 2008, as part of the celebrations of the 400th Anniversary of Quebec City, “The Image Mill” shall be playing on the banks of Bassin Louise. The Projection Studio’s Paris team will work in collaboration with Robert Lepage’s production company, ExMachina, to present this larger-than-life portrait of Quebec City, using the huge surface of the Bunge grain elevators as a giant screen.

The Projection Studio Launches 2 New Products at Heavent 2007 Show

The Projection Studio enjoyed an exceptionally busy Heavent 2007 show in Paris, launching two innovative new products – OnlyView 3D and the Focal Triple.

The stunning stand was the result of a collaboration with three other international companies - UK-based Stage One, specialists in automation systems, stage machinery and set creations; Anglo-French draping and material specialists Blackout and lighting, LED screen and sound rental house, Lumière et Son Paris.
