ETC equips the France Pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai China
ETC has been awarded a prestigious contract for the supply, installation and operation of the audio-visual and multimedia systems for the France Pavilion by COFRES (Compagnie Française pour l'Exposition Universelle de Shanghai) at the 2010 World Expo to be held in Shanghai from May to October.
The 6,000m² France Pavilion, whose theme is "la Ville Sensuelle" (the Sensuous City), was designed by architect Jacques Ferrier. The Pavilion's scenography will utilize the latest technology to present the country to visitors by way of the five senses: taste, sight, touch, smell and hearing. A wide range of AV equipment including video projectors, plasma screens and sound systems, all operated via Onlyview®, ETC's flexible multimedia control platform, will be installed throughout the Pavilion, and will run 15 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the 6 months of the Expo.
ETC will deploy a team of 10 technicians and engineers (who will collaborate with 10 other crew members from local partners) to undertake the installation, programming, commissioning and operation of some 80 video projectors, 45 plasma screens and an Onlyview® system comprised of more than 40 media servers. One of the Pavilion's highlights will be the Odorama, where olfactory equipment will automatically detect passing visitors and diffuse various odours around them throughout the visit.
